727-200 Airplane

727-200 Airliner

This is a 3D printed 727-200 Airliner I designed EASY to print, assemble and fly on one 50mm EDF. This is my easiest to print and assemble plane yet. Build Volume required is 200x200x200. RTF weight: 1,100 grams PLA OR 780 grams LW-PLA Wingspan: 0.8m Length: 1.1m Print time: 45hrs I have a full step by step assemble video on my YouTube channel. Watch below. Keep scrolling to see more features of the 727-200.

Build Video

This is my build tutorial for the 727-200. I have two versions available, a freighter version without windows and a passenger version with windows. This plane can be printed in regular PLA and LW-PLA. Decals stick great on regular PLA, but if you go with LW-PLA I would suggest hand-painting.

Designed to be easy to assemble

I designed this plane to print in Vase Mode, where all of the pieces can be printed out using the same print setting. There are no infill or top/bottom layers needed. This is THE easiest plane to print on the market. I added a slotted key in each fuselage piece which makes for an easy to align and assemble fuselage section. The servo locations are designed to fit any brand of 9g servo.

Getting Started

This plane requires a minimum build plate volume of 200x200x200

I got to test out this printer for this build and I can't recommend it enough! I was getting excellent quality with this printer. It does a great job printing planes.

Flaps

Customize Your Flight Experience

There are two flap designs included in this build. You can print the wing out as a regular wing with a flaps-up configuration. Or you can print out the regular wing and remove the flaps, as shown in the build video, and replace them with the takeoff-flaps. This is a cool feature that allows you to have flaps without adding weight, and also adds a great scale look to the wing.

Hand-Launch or Belly-Land

I have included the files for a landing gear for this plane, but it can also be flown as a hand-launch plane. The key feature I wanted to improve on, is having no servo arm under the wing for belly-landing. I designed an internal servo mount that uses a 3mm carbon fiber rod attached to the end of a servo to control the aileron.
